Air Purifiers

CAP600 Series & CAP1200 Series Central Air Purifiers
The Ultimate in Whole House Air Purification

When it comes to harmful air pollutants, what you can’t see can hurt you. CAP600 series and CAP1200 series Central Air Purifiers with true HEPA filtration are often recommended by allergists, pediatricians and other health care professionals for patients with allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems. CAP600 & CAP1200 series models represent the ultimate in home air purification systems that deliver clean, pure healthy air into your customers’ homes.
All CAP600 series and CAP1200 series models feature a HEPA filter that is tested and certified to an efficiency of 99.97% or higher at 0.3 microns. This HEPA filter is similar to the kind used to cleanse the air in hospital operating room suites. Your customers can also add-on an optional UV-C or UV Plus lamp for enhanced control of microbes, VOCs and odors.

HEPA Filter Captures Microscopic Contaminants: No other filter captures microscopic contaminants as effectively as a true HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter. Scientific studies have shown that more than 99 out of every 100 particles in indoor air are smaller than one micron in size–far too small to be captured by most upgraded filters let alone low-efficiency throwaway furnace filters. The HEPA filter used in the CAP600 series and CAP1200 series models are tested and certified to capture at least 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size.
Internal Motorized Impeller Circulates Air: CAP600 series and CAP1200 series Central Air Purifiers are designed to supply HEPA-filtered air to the entire conditioned space in the house without adding any load to the HVAC motor & blower. A powerful, internal motorized impeller pulls contaminated air out of the return, through the filters and pushes the purified air back into the return plenum. A typical installation can replace the entire volume of air in the home with purified air up to 75 times per day.

Simple Partial Bypass Installation: Installing CAP600 series and CAP1200 series units in a “partial bypass” configuration further enables the units to pull air through the highly-efficient filters without adding any appreciable load to the HVAC motor & blower. Bypass connections are made by cutting a 10-inch diameter hole into the return duct and connecting the inlet of the CAP unit to the duct with 10-inch rigid or flexible ducting. The exhaust of the CAP unit is similarly connected into the return duct or plenum downstream from the inlet connection to complete the “bypass loop”.

A HEPA Home is a Healthier Home
CAP600 series and CAP1200 series units are designed for use in both new installations and for retrofit applications. CAP600 series models are designed for use in one to four ton forced-air systems. CAP1200 series models are designed for use in larger (four to ten ton) residential and commercial systems. One CAP unit is required for each HVAC system and installed by a licensed HVAC professional.

Standard CAP600 Model
The standard CAP600 model is equipped with three stages of filtration:
Stage One is an inexpensive Fiber-Trapper® filter designed to capture up to five times more dirt and larger particles than a standard throwaway 1” furnace filter. This filter is even washable if the homeowner wants to reuse it.
Stage Two is a dual-purpose Vapor-Lock® carbon filter that captures smaller particles, as well as odors and some volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Stage Three is a HEPA filter designed to capture bacterial, mold and fungal spores, pollens and other lung-damaging microscopic particles.

CAP600-UV and CAP600-UVP Models
These top-of-the-line models have all of the features of the standard CAP600 model, plus the added benefits of our germicidal UV-C or UV Plus lamp technology.
The CAP600-UV is equipped with an ozone-free, high-output germicidal UV lamp designed to irradiate and kill bacteria, mold and fungal spores, viruses and other microbes as they pass the lamp or are trapped on the HEPA filter. The CAP600-UVP model is equipped with a special dual-output lamp that generates both germicidal UV and a controlled amount of trivalent oxygen (ozone) via an oxidation reaction called photolysis. This lamp provides enhanced effectiveness against odors caused by mold and fungal growth or VOCs that may be present in the dark, damp recesses of the HVAC system.
When the filter access door is opened for inspection or servicing, both models feature a safety interlock switch. The electrical interlock instantly deactivates the lamp to protect against any possibility of direct skin or eye exposure to UV light.

CAP1200-UV and CAP1200-UVP Models
Both models contain larger internal blower systems designed to handle the filtration requirements of HVAC systems that are four tons (1,600 cfm) or larger, plus have the added benefits of UV-C or UV Plus lamp technology. These units have four stages of filtration to handle the higher dirt-loading requirements of larger systems:
Stage One is an inexpensive Fiber-Trapper® filter designed to capture up to five times more dirt and larger particles than a standard throwaway 1” furnace filter. This filter is even washable if the homeowner wants to reuse it.
Stage Two is a 2″ pleated particulate filter.
Stage Three is a dual-purpose Vapor-Lock® carbon filter that captures smaller particles, as well as odors and some volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Stage Four is a HEPA filter designed to capture bacterial, mold and fungal spores, pollens and other lung-damaging microscopic particles.

The CAP1200-UV is equipped with an ozone-free, high-output germicidal UV lamp designed to irradiate and kill bacteria, mold and fungal spores, viruses and other microbes as they pass the lamp or are trapped on the HEPA filter.

The CAP1200-UVP model is equipped with a special dual-output lamp that generates both germicidal UV and a controlled amount of trivalent oxygen (ozone) via an oxidation reaction called photolysis.

CAP50 & CAP100 Series Central Air  Purifiers
A Cost-Effective Solution to Whole House Air Purification

Captures up to 97% of the Particles Standard Furnace Filters Miss
Do your customers notice dust on furniture and other surfaces of their home? Do they have problems with pollen or suffer from allergies? CAP50 and CAP100 series models are professionally installed into a home’s central HVAC system to continuously remove allergens, irritants and pollutants from the air before they can enter the living space.
To the homeowner, these models deliver a cost-effective solution to the problem of indoor air pollution. To your business, these systems offer an attractive way to expand your services and jump in on a growing market opportunity.
CAP50 and CAP100 series models provide a much higher level of particulate filtration and dirt holding capacity than standard furnace filters or electrostatic filters. These in-line filtration systems capture up to 97% of the particles that standard filters miss, including fine dust and dirt particles and pollens. And, some models incorporate germicidal UV-C or UV Plus lamp technology to control microbial growth. All models are Class II medical devices and are ETL certified to meet applicable UL standards.

CAP50-U & CAP100-U Models Feature a Unique Two-Stage Filtration System
These basic units feature a unique two-stage filtration system that effectively captures particulates and is economical to operate. The CAP50-U model is designed with 16” x 25” filters for smaller tonnage HVAC forced-air systems and heat pumps. The larger CAP100-U model has 20” x 25” filters and is designed for systems up to 4 tons (1,600 cfm). Both models feature an inexpensive one-inch deep prefilter that removes larger particles and extends the life of the more expensive final-stage filter. When dirty, it is thrown away and replaced, just like the original one-inch furnace filter. The high-capacity, five-inch deep final filter captures invisible particles that pass through standard filters, such as fine dirt and dust particles, soot, animal hair and dander, and pollens. This filter has achieved an outstanding MERV 11 efficiency rating in tests following the ASHRAE 52.2 standard.

Germicidal Upgrade Option
Homeowners who install the CAP50-U or CAP100-U can upgrade these models later to add germicidal UV-C or UV Plus technology by purchasing a special upgrade module from the installing contractor/dealer. Since the upgrade module inserts into the existing CAP50-U or CAP100-U cabinet, installation is fast and inexpensive. Some HVAC contractors who specialize in new home construction include the basic models as part of the original installation, and offer the upgrade modules at an extra cost.

CAP50-UV and CAP100-UV Models with UV-C Lamp Module
Homeowners can also get the benefits of germicidal UV technology from day one by purchasing the CAP50-UV or CAP100-UV model. These units combine the same MERV 11 particulate filtration with a powerful UV-C ultraviolet lamp, which irradiates bacteria, viruses and other microbial contaminants as they pass the lamp in the air stream, or are trapped on the special UV-resistant final filter.
Built-in safety features include an electrical interlock switch that instantly deactivates the lamp when the filter access door is opened. Both models feature high-capacity, non-ozone producing lamps and are safety certified by Environmental Testing Laboratories.

CAP50-UVP and CAP100-UVP Models with UV Plus Lamp Module
Molds and fungi can grow in moist areas of the HVAC system creating unpleasant odors and toxins. UV-C lamps installed in the evaporator coil can reduce these problems, but surfaces of the A-coil that are not directly visible to the lamp are sometimes difficult to irradiate effectively. In addition, many plastic drain pans can be degraded by continuous UV exposure.
The CAP50-UVP and CAP100-UVP models have all the same features as the UV models but replace the UV-C lamp with a UV Plus lamp. In addition to UV-C in the germicidal frequency, this lamp emits UV-C at 180 to 200 nanometers producing a controlled level of trivalent oxygen, or ozone, used primarily for odor and VOC control.
Ozone is a gas that can permeate the hidden nooks and crannies of the HVAC system where it can react with microbial contaminants and VOC, and break down unpleasant odors. Since ozone is very reactive and breaks down quickly, the HVAC return location of the CAP unit helps ensure that ozone levels in the occupied living space are not affected.
Ozone is widely used in the fire and disaster restoration industry to remove odors from smoke, sewage or decomposition. UV Plus models are especially suitable for homes susceptible to mold growth and microbial odors caused by high-humidity climates or moisture problems, or for homes with chronic odor problems from smokers, cooking or pets.
